About ReWrite

ReWrite is an international literary collaboration for young writers aged 18 and 30, which took place in the spring, summer and autumn of 2025. The project was created through a collaboration between Ordkraft, Manchester Literature Festival, The Writing Squad and LiteratureXchange, and offered the participants the opportunity to develop their literary voice and writing skills through instruction and mentorship in both Denmark and England.

ReWrite connected six young writers from three cities – Aalborg, Aarhus and Manchester – with the aim of exploring and challenging the borders and boundaries of language through literature. Each city hosted a four-day workshop where the participating writers received feedback and guidance from professional authors and translators. The workshops each culminated in a live performance at the respective city’s literature festival – Ordkraft in Aalborg, LiteratureXchange in Aarhus and Manchester Literature Festival in Manchester.

ReWrite began in April in Aalborg with a workshop led by writers Anne-Marie Borchert and Adam Drewes, followed by a live performance at Ordkraft’s literature festival. The next city was Aarhus, where the workshop took place in mid-June and the young writers performed during LiteratureXchange on 18 June, with texts exploring the themes of identity, belonging and language. The collaboration concluded in October in Manchester at the Manchester Literature Festival.
