Project Art Writing

Aarhus Centre for Literature is leading the development of a Knowledge Centre for Art Writing. Art Writing is the cross artistic literary production that takes place in the tension between literature and other media and art forms such as audio, music and visual arts, and manifests as word setups, literary performances, book objects and digital literature.

The Knowledge Centre will be established on Godsbanen in 2013 and will be international in its aim and contain an archive, a line of festivals and the establishment of international networking. The ambition is to attract, maintain, develop and challenge professional writers/artists, talents, students and researchers in the literary cross-aesthetic network.

The most important venture in the developing process of the project is an international seminar, which will be held in march 2013, with presentations by Danish and international writers, artists and researchers. Additionally there will be exhibitions, artist talks, readings and events to communicate Art Writing to a wider audience during the seminar.

The project has received financial support from Fonden Aarhus 2017, Region Midtjylland, Kulturkontakt Nord, Aarhus Kommunes Kulturudviklingspulje, British Council, Statens Kunstråds DIVA-ordning and Statens Kunstråds Tværæstetiske Pulje.

On Art Writings homepage you will find the information on ‘Kortlægning / Mapping’ in both Danish and English.
