MASTERCLASS: Maria Fusco juni 2014

DSC_0121D. 23. – 26. juni 2014 udbyder Project Art Writing i samarbejde med Maria Fusco to masterclasses: How to Teach Art Writing: a User’s Guide (23. og 24. juni), som henvender sig til den, der vil undervise andre i Art Writing og Art Writing and Non-Division (25. og 26. juni), som henvender sig til den, der udøver Art Writing og gerne vil udvikle sin egen skrivepraksis.

Maria Fusco er en af pionererne inden for Art Writing i England. Hun arbejder på tværs af genrerne – fiktion, kritik og teori. Hun har bl.a. udgivet novellesamlingen, The Mechanical Copula, skrevet manuskript til GONDA – en film af Ursula Mayer, og hun er redaktionel leder af det årlige tidsskrift The Happy Hypocrite, der har eksperimentel art writing som sit genstandsfelt. Maria Fusco er tilknyttet Edinburgh College of Art som Chancellor´s Fellow og har tidligere været leder af Art Writing-programmet på Goldsmiths School of Art, University of London.

Masterclassmodulerne afholdes i regi af Aarhus Litteraturcenter, og undervisningen finder fortrinsvis sted i centerets skriveværksted Vogn 1. Begge masterclassmoduler foregår på engelsk og ansøgningsfristen er d. 20. maj.

Project Art Writing offers from 23rd – 26th June 2014 in cooperation with Maria Fusco two master-classes: How to Teach Art Writing: a User’s Guide (23rd – 24th June 2014), which is directed at the participant, who wishes to teach Art Writing and Art Writing and Non-Division (25th – 26th June 2014), which is directed at the participant, who practises Art Writing and wishes to develop and improve his or her writing.

Maria Fusco is one of the pioneers in the field of Art Writing in England. She works across the genres – fiction, criticism and theory. She has among other things published the collection of short stories The Mechanical Copula, written the manuscript for GONDA, a movie by Ursula Mayer, and she is the editor of the yearly journal The Happy Hippocrite which has experimenting Art Writing as its domain. Maria Fusco is affiliated with Edinburgh College of Art as Chancellor’s Fellow and has earlier been leader of the Art Writing programme on Goldsmiths School of Art, University of London.

Initially Maria Fusco visits Aarhus in connection with two master-classes but will return in the autumn on a DIVA-residence where she among other things participates in a reading and gives an artist talk.

The master-classes are convened in the management of Aarhus Litteraturcenter, and the lessons primarily take place in the writing-workshop, Vogn 1. Both master-classes will be in English and the closing date for applications is 20th may 2014 – we look forward to receive participants on two exiting and challenging classes.
